Aging Resources of WNC Expo Connects Community with Local Experts and Resources

Whether you're planning for the future, caring for an aging loved one, or searching for trusted resources in your community, the Aging Resources of WNC Expo is designed to help provide resources for aging well in the region. The free community event will take place on August 20, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Blue Ridge Mall in Hendersonville, NC, bringing together local organizations, healthcare professionals, senior service providers, and community experts under one roof. Jennifer Jacobs, Medicare Program Manager at Council on Aging of Buncombe County notes, "Navigating the landscape of aging and caregiving can feel overwhelming, but events like the Aging Resources Expo bring the community together to illuminate the path forward. The goal is to foster direct connections between families, caregivers, and essential local organizations—such as the vital Medicare assistance provided by the SHIIP office at the Buncombe County Council on Aging, which proudly serves residents in neighboring Henderson County. "

Presented by Aging Resources Magazine in partnership with Mountain Aging Partners, Land of Sky Area Agency on Aging, Council on Aging of Buncombe County, and NC SHIIP, attendees will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of services and resources related to healthy aging, caregiving, healthcare, housing, financial planning, wellness, and more. Through conversations with local experts and exhibitors, visitors can gain practical information, ask questions, and discover programs available throughout Western North Carolina. “The Aging Resources Expo is an important opportunity to connect older adults, caregivers, and families with the services and supports available throughout our community. As our population ages, it becomes increasingly important that people know where to turn for information, assistance, and resources that help them remain healthy, independent, and engaged."
LeeAnne Tucker, Director of Area Agency on Aging states that, "This event brings together organizations from across the region in one convenient location, allowing attendees to discover programs and services they may not even know exist. The Expo serves as a gateway to the many resources available to help older adults thrive.”

Elizabeth Williams, Executive Director of Mountain Aging Partners further explains that, "The Aging Resources Expo helps connect older adults, caregivers, and families with the information, services, and support they need to navigate aging with confidence. By bringing trusted community resources together in one place, the Expo makes it easier for people to learn about available options, ask questions, and build connections before a crisis occurs. Mountain Aging Partners is proud to support this collaborative effort to strengthen aging services in our community."
